Saxophonist

Edward K. Martin, Jr. (known professionally as Eddie K. Jr), is a saxophonist extraordinaire who has been captivating audiences for over 25 years.

Based in Maryland, he is well-known for his enchanting performances, and is highly sought after for festivals, private celebrations, corporate events, and community programs alike.

Eddie's musical journey is a harmonious blend of natural talent and formal university training. His versatility knows no bounds as he effortlessly navigates through various genres to include jazz, gospel, classical, pop, and R&B, evoking a sense of nostalgia that resonates deeply with all audiences. Whether collaborating with a brass trio, leading a full band, or taking center stage for a mesmerizing solo, Eddie's artistry shines through every note he plays.

Starting his career as a music therapist for students with disabilities, Eddie's commitment to using music as a vehicle for healing and connection has always been at the forefront. This dedication has extended beyond the realm of music, as he served as a Police Officer in the DC Metropolitan area, with an impressive 19-year tenure, numerous awards, and an esteemed Medal of Valor.

Throughout his career, Eddie has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Floetry at Bowie State University, as well as legends like Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder at a Washington DC National Football League (NFL) Kick-off. Locally, he is a frequent performer in the vibrant DC/MD/VA area, gracing events such as the CIAA Annual Tournament, Waterfront Cherry Blossom Festival, and numerous corporate functions, restaurants, churches, and summer festivals.

Eddie's instrumentals are flawless, his stage presence magnetic, and his music transcends generational boundaries, captivating audiences of all ages. Beyond his remarkable career, Eddie's ultimate goal is to use his profound love for music and unwavering faith in God to positively engage and inspire others.
